No plastic, and utterly fantastic!

It seems everyone’s got something to say about sustainability these days, even in the world of supplements. While it’s great to see these issues finally getting the attention they deserve, sometimes it’s hard to know if your vitamins really live up to their planet-saving promises or if the company making your so-called sustainable supplements are indulging in a bit of “greensheening”.
We believe sustainability is so much more than sticking a reassuringly eco looking label on a bottle. It’s about putting sustainability at the very heart of everything you do, which is what we’ve done at JetFuel.
It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, so we’d love to take a moment to show you how we’re the real deal when it comes to sustainable supplements.
Our planet’s health is as important as our own. No question.
There’s simply no questioning our belief that respecting our planet’s health is as important as caring for our own. But, when you’re in the business of selling actual products, like supplements and teas, no matter how hard you try, you can’t get away from a huge problem - post-consumer waste.
So, while we could have just turned a blind eye, and assumed all our packaging would get recycled, we faced up to the fact that despite all our best intentions, it would probably still end up in landfill, even if it was recyclable.
It’s incredible. Did you know that 80% of plastic is dumped into landfill and that over 10 million tonnes of plastic waste ends up in the sea every year!
Of course, that’s just not on, so we decided to do something about it in our little corner of the world. And that meant pretty much ripping up the rule book!
That’s a “hell yes” to sustainable packaging.
We decided that if we were genuinely going to live and breathe sustainability, we’d have to do something pretty radical, and that took us on quite an adventure.
It made no sense to us that most supplements still come in hard to recycle, bulky bottles that are costly to transport. So, we went on the hunt for someone who could help us do things very differently and partnered with a forward-thinking packaging producer who shares our vision to ‘Use, Reuse and Recycle’.
Working together, we found a brilliant way to package all our supplements. They nestle happily in brightly coloured pouches, which comply with the global circular economy approach. This makes them slightly transparent so you can see our caps inside but they aren’t shy - they have lots to boast about!
Even our shipping mailers are made from 100% recyclable Polythene post-consumer waste - PE mono material classified, recycle logo 4 to be precise!
Not only that, because our pouches are much less bulky, they require less raw materials, and they’re easier and lighter to transport. This means we can pop them straight through your letterbox, which reduces our CO₂ emissions.
Biodegradable tea pyramids
And it’s not just our supplements, our teas have top drawer sustainability credentials too!
All our gorgeous whole leaf botanical teas live in our pioneering 100% plastic-free, plant-based corn biodegradable tea pyramids which can easily be recycled in your food bin at home. They biodegrade in less than 40 days, which is faster than a newspaper!
100% green manufacturing
We knew we’d be letting everyone down if we were shouting about how green our teas and supplements were but didn’t take the time to make sure our manufacturing process was just as sustainable.
So, we’ve partnered with the UK’s only environmentally-friendly, ethical supplement manufacturer who uses 100% sustainable energy, just wind and sun energy, to manufacture our vits!
And, as if we couldn’t get any greener, we’ve made all our capsules 100% vegan friendly by using plant-derived gelatin called hypromellose (HPMC).
Do something green!
All our teas and supplements are the real deal. We live and breath our sustainability credentials and we’ve made sure that every step we take to get our fabulous products into your hands are the greenest they can be.
We’re deeply committed to the idea that being green is more than buying eco. It’s a lifestyle, and every day we put sustainability at the heart of everything we do.
What’s something green that you do every day?
